How old do I have to be to take the test? You must be at least 18 years of age, and NOT currently enrolled in any US high school to take the test.
Residency Required? Official GED exams administered State- by- State. Local test centers/educational departments will distribute results and/or diplomas. You must be a US citizen and resident to take this course.
What must I score to pass the GED Test? In order to pass the GED® Test, an exam one must have a combined passing score of 2250; in addition, The minimum passing score set by GED Testing Service is an average of 450 or higher on each subject test (a total standard score of 2250 or higher). In addition, you must score at least 410 or higher in each subject. You must show a level of knowledge or skill that is equal or greater than 60% of graduating high school seniors.
How long is the GED Test? The GED® Test takes approximately five (5) hours to complete. Most test centers give the test over a period of 2 mornings or evenings. Some locations do provide the test in 7 days. Language Arts - Reading: 1 hour Language Arts - Writing: 1 hours - (60 minutes for multiple choice, 30 minutes for the essay) Mathematics: 60 minutes
Social Studies: 1 hour, 20 minutes
Special Education... If previously in high school under Special education, we do NOT recommend taking this course. GCC is not equipped to administer the tactics necessary for individuals needing these services while working online. We apologize.
